Heartland Auxiliary
Heartland Auxiliary of ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of Kansas City is a volunteer group of professional women that provides school supplies, Christmas gifts, and emergency funds for the special needs of children in Clay and Platte Counties through OPERATION CHILD IN NEED.
Operation Child in Need is a special philanthropic program that helps foster children, foster families, wards of the court and children in need. This program fills requests for backpacks, school supplies, clothing, tutoring and the extras children need that cannot be provided by the families and agencies caring for them.
Heartland Auxiliary members raise the funds to support their programs by grants, donations and fundraisers. Our main fundraiser is the selling of poinsettias. Heartland Auxiliary members commit to a minimum of 30 hours of service annually, and pledge financial support as well as annual dues. Heartland Auxiliary has an open membership with emphasis on a yearly membership drive in November. For information on becoming a member, contact Assistance League of Kansas City.
Heartland Auxiliary Receives Grant: Assistance League of Kansas City Heartland Auxiliary has received a grant from the Irven E. & NeVada P. Linscomb Foundation Fund, a supporting organization of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. The grant will fund essential school supplies including a functional backpack for foster children in Clay and Platte counties.
