Poinsettia Sale

Each year, Assistance League of Kansas City sells more than 3,000 poinsettias
to help fund our philanthropic programs. These plants can be ordered from any Assistance League of Kansas City
member during September through October. Plants are delivered the last week of November. Assistance League of Kansas City
is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and a portion of your order is tax deductible.

Proceeds benefit these philanthropic programs of ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of Kansas
City:

ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS®
were delivered to hospitals and organizations in Clay, Jackson, and Platte
counties for use by victims of assault.

HUMAN OUTREACH PROGRAM
responded to various community needs, one of which was the distribution of
donated items and Christmas gifts for children at Synergy Services.

I'M IN CHARGE
materials helped teach elementary children safe self-care skills.

OPERATION FOSTER CHILDREN
distributed backpacks with school supplies to foster children, and served
additional children thru the Platte County Back to School Fair. Each year,
social workers can request services not covered thru the foster care program.
Heartland Auxiliary, one of two auxiliaries of ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of Kansas City, runs this program.

OPERATION HUG
gives teddy bears to police departments, medical facilities, and hospitals to comfort children in crisis.

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®
provided new clothing for elementary school children recommended by their school counselor.

ASSISTEENS® assisted the
chapter in its programs as well as participating in various monthly programs of
its own including a community blood drive and Operation Senior Citizen.
